Mary Louise Marino

Combining her backgrounds in the visual language of design, experimental lettering, and Japanese calligraphy, Mary’s work is best described as written line drawings — the unique marks a writing implement can make and the exploration of the line within a structural field. She studied both formally and informally in Philadelphia, New York, Japan, and Switzerland.

She received her Masters in Organizational Management from the School for International Training in Vermont, and spent two and a half years abroad with Peace Corps in Uzbekistan and Romania working in non-profit capacity building and community development.

Mary first joined the staff at Font Bureau in 1998 through 2003 as project and account manager in charge of custom typographic design and high-end license sales. She returned in 2007 as marketing coordinator responsible for the development, coordination, and execution of their print and online marketing strategy.
