Whitman Display

28 Styles

Drawing inspiration from Dwiggins and Gill, Kent Lew blended classical design traits with a spartan finish to create the original Whitman. In 2004, Monica Moses commissioned headline styles for the Minneapolis Star Tribune, citing its “intelligence but not self-importance.” Expanded further for Fortune and others, the versatile display series now offers a finely graduated range — from light, stately charm to rich, robust authority; FB 2004–08

Among other uses, Whitman Display is recommended for Newspaper and Magazine use.
