Roxy

Impressed with the strength and the clarity of John Downer’s personal “thick/thin” signwriting style, a fitness magazine commissioned a single weight of Roxy in 1990 to stress its headlines. Mildly compact widths and moderate contrast in the American tradition separate Roxy from the wider Britannic and Radiant. Three years later, Downer and the Font Bureau staff expanded Roxy to six styles for a full, versatile series; FB 1990–93
