Canto

8 Styles

Inspired by Edward M. Catich’s seminal thesis on the origins of the Roman inscriptional style, such as that found on Trajan’s column, Richard Lipton’s Canto traces the path from an expressive, preparatory Brush (with Brush Open to preserve gestural details at smaller sizes), through informal Pen, to the formal Roman. Classical capitals are accompanied by Lipton’s own calligraphic lowercase, small caps, and swashes; FB 2011

OpenType

Canto is available as OpenType fonts with both lining and oldstyle figures, small caps, and swash and stylistic alternates. (Legacy Postscript fonts are not available for this family.)
